Christmas eating tips.

My mom sent me this email and it was too good to pass up.

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare.. You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. if something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember this motto to live by:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Wishing you all A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS SEASON!

To my wife...Do not forget this.....

There hasn't been a moment since I married you that I have regret the decision of marrying you.
 Do Not Forget This.
There hasn't been and will never be a thought in my mind that we won't exist as an amazing couple till the end of time.
Do Not Forget This.
My life is now dedicated to serving you as MY QUEEN, and making you smile at every moment even as you sleep.
Do Not Forget This.
I love your daughter as my own and I will treat her as my own. I will do everything in my power to keep her safe, fed, sheltered, and clothed. She is in my heart and mind as much as you are.
Do Not Forget This.
I may mess up every once in awhile, say the wrong thing, or say nothing at all. I may yell loudly and you may think I don't care. I do care, that's why I am emotional with you. If I didn't care I wouldn't have an opinion on things. Because I gave you my heart and soul, you have the ability to bring the best out of me and bring the worst out of me.
Do Not Forget This.
In my mind you are the most beautiful person in the world. Your smile can bring me to my knees and your kisses can stop my heart. I want you to kiss me at any and every opportunity possible.
Do Not Forget This.
I need you to respect me just as much as you love me because love without respect isn't true love. Also, I need you to trust me as much as you love me, because love without trust won't last.
Do Not Forget This.
My heart is yours, forever. My mind is yours, forever. My body is yours, forever.
Do Not Forget This.
I want to experience the world with you. No land, sea, or experience untouched by us.
 Do Not Forget This.
I want you as my own, I want you to be mine forever, I want you to give me you as I give you me.

A Texan going to California

Well, in about a month my life will be changing. I will be starting my journey to California on September 10th. I am really looking forward to going to Cali and finally starting a life with my girly. I want to be there for her and help support her and Genevieve because I love them both. I really hope that everything runs smoothly on the move out there. There are so many things I am looking forward to doing everyday when i get out there. Waking up next to the wife, cooking for my family, and just having a good time with the entire David (wife's family) out there. I have met a lot of them and they all seem like good people.

We are going to have a busy rest of the year. September is the month of our anniversary from the day we first met and it is also the month of Janina's birthday. Then we have all the other holidays that are at the end of this year. When I get out there, we will probably buy Baby Bear a new bed, because she grows so fast that soon this one will be too small. I just reminded myself of the cool humidifier we bought Genevieve for her to sleep with at night. I woke up one morning when I was visiting and there was some blood on her pillow from her nose. I figured it was from the dry air and also it was during some wild fires out there. I had called Janina while she was at work and she went to Target like the wonderful mom she is and bought a humidifier. It was pretty cool looking tooo, it looks like a fat penguin that spits out clouds :p Maybe Janina can put a picture up of it for everyone. Genevieve really likes it too, she thinks its cool.

All and all I am thrilled to be going to California, and I hope to hang out with my new father, mother, brother, and sister(s) in laws very soon. I want to be there for Janina most of all. She makes me happy and I will try to do my best to let her know that everyday.
